Premise.
It is the year of 1997, and everything is going according to Voldemort's plan. Severus Snape is Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the Death Eaters are pretty much taking over every nook and cranny of the school. Students are terrified, and he has everyone right where he wants them - except for the one person who he wanted to keep his eye on the most. Harry Potter. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the run, and have been for a few weeks now - ever since Fleur and Bill's wedding. They've been able to narrowly escape the danger of the outside world, but how long can this last? Especially when Kingsley Shacklebolt is about to be imperio'ed to enforce something new, something that will drive people to even more madness, and could quite possibly help Voldemort locate Harry's whereabouts. A marriage law. Once a pureblood reaches the legal age of seventeen, they are to be put into the marriage program, and paired up with someone of the opposite affiliation to be wed to. Unless both parties and their parental figures object, and it is the Death Eater's side to want to decide against the marriage, they are bound by law to get married, and produce an heir within the first three years of their union, though it is encouraged to have a child within the first year of the marriage. They must be married within one year of the engagement (both of which have to be done properly), and have to live within the same residence within three months after the ceremony. But what will happen if you're Ron Weasley and already of age, but on the run with your two best friends? If you cannot be found at the time of your seventeenth birthday (or once you're cured of the spattergroit that you have contracted), you will be wanted for breaking the law, and if you are caught, there will be severe punishment, as well as being married to your chosen partner as soon as possible. Unless, of course, you escape again. » This game will follow the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, just with this added piece of plot. » Yes, Muggleborns are still treated as scum and being looked for. Halfbloods can only enter the program if one parent is a pureblood. » This game will run in real time, just in the year of 1997, and in a different month. 01 January 2008 = 01 September 1997. Each time our month transitions, their month will, as well. Players will be kept notified of month changes to keep time lines in order! Simple, yes? » Regarding the marriage program, both parties of the 'relationship' will be alerted via owl when the youngest of the pair turns seventeen. In the owl they will be notified who they're paired up with, and all of the deadlines (such as they need to be married within a year) they need to follow. » Most character deaths will be kept canon to the seventh book, unless they are in play. » This game isn't just about the added plot piece, but to get a feel for your character's feelings and emotions during this hard time while they are at school, or at home worrying about their children.
